IAPS Sailing regatta Day One

Day one of the IAPS Sailing regatta saw our junior teams put to the test with a variety of conditions.
Fifty six boats were rigged by the children from schools both local and from all over the south.
Our two boats set off from the shore with the wind peaking at over 20 knots for the first two races.
Binoculars were essential for a good view
And it was important to remember the sail numbers.
An hour break for lunch and a warm up.
The wind died off in the afternoon so the going was somewhat slower.
After the two afternoon races all returned safely and the results were calculated.
Our teams produced some very respectable results.
Our Y4&5 girls came 42nd out of 56
And our Y6 boys came halfway down the field at 23rd.
A great pair of results for our first IAPS regatta.
